The Munsang College Symphonic Band
The Munsang College Symphonic Band was established in 2002. It is aimed to provide opportunities for woodwind, brass and percussion students to develop their musical talents through rehearsals and performances. The current symphonic band is divided into elementary and advanced levels in the secondary section and the primary section respectively and the total number of members is about 150.
The students in the symphonic band can receive their instrumental training through different ways of musical experience. Performance is one of the reactant to boost the musical interest of students. This year, we perform on several important school occasions such as the Anniversary Day and Munsang College Music Festival as well as some external events such as the Hong Kong International Band Fair and Art in MTR which gather a high praise. We have music exchange with Singapore Yishun Junior College, Wah Yan College (Kowloon) and Pui Ching Middle School to let our students know more about the musical ideas and performance level of not only local schools, but also overseas schools. In Hong Kong Youth Music Interflow Band Competition, Munsang College Symphonic Band got the Gold Medal in Secondary Junior Class.
