National Taiwan Normal University Symphonic Band

National Taiwan Normal University Symphonic Band(NTNU Symphonic Band) was established in 1950. At the very beginning, we only played in some important ceremonies in school. Our members all share a enthusiastic heart toward music; most of the members are students in Music Department while others fantastic player are from different departments. With continual efforts, our fame and number of members has grown. We devote to improve our performance standard and quality. In 1969, we hold our own concert on the 23rd NTNU anniversary. It means a lot to the band; at the same time, we set a goal to reach in the future. NTNU Symphonic Band will travel and perform around Taiwan every winter in order to spread the music to every corner. So far, we have successfully made 36 circuits. In recent years, with the trend of internatonalization, NTNU Symphonic band also have some interact and exchange with foreign countries. The experience of some exchange concerts and activities broaden our mind. We have some contacts with Hong Kong, Macao, Thailand, Japan, South Korea and so on. This year in May, NTNU Symphonic Band held a concert on National Concert hall. We played a series music of American composer-George Gershwin. It was very successful and we receive lots of accomplish. We expect oueselves more so that we can share wonderful music with everyone.  

Conductor  Shu-Han Yeh

Shu Han Yeh graduated from the music department of the National Taiwan Normal University in 1980, he was given schoarship by the French Goverment in 1982 to study at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMP), and graduated from CNSMP with the diploma of distinction, premier Rix in 1984.

Currently he is prodessor of National Taiwan Normal University, and serves as a conductor for National Taiwan Normal University Symphonic Band, Kuang -jen Catholic High School Symphonic Orchestra, and C.Y.C Wind Orchestra.

Prof. Yeh is devoted to develop wind music in Taiwan. He served as, President of R.O.C Wand Band Association and Taipei Wind Band Association, board member of International Trumpet Guild, Board Member and Artistic Planning Committee Member of World Association of Symphonic Bands & Ensemble, Artistic direct to Je-ju International Wind Ensemble Festival and Chiayi International Band Festival.
