Daisuke Shimizu was born in 1980 in Kanagawa, Japan. He graduated from Showa College of Music in 2002, having studied composition with Yoshibumi Fujiwara. He has composed for premier bands such as the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Chubu Band, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Eastern Army Band, the JGSDF 6th Division Band, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Yokosuka. Maizuru. Sasebo Band, the Yamaha Symphonic Band, Naniwa Orchestral Winds, the Osaka Municipal Symphonic Band, the Siena Wind Orchestra, and Shintaro Fukumoto, the saxophonist. He was also performed at the 2008 Midwest Clinic. Four CDs of his works have been released in Japan.
He won the 49th JBA(JAPANESE BAND DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION)SHITAYA Award.Currently serve the Showa University of Music lecturer.
Ming-Shang Shen was born in Hsin-Chu in 1973. Shen is not only a famous conductor, but also a Bassoon Performer and Educator. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from National Institute of the Arts, major in Bassoon Performance. In 2002, he got the master degree from National Taiwan Normal University, major in Conducting. Shen was a band director for over ten years. He is now the Conductor of HSIN-CHU Youth Symphonic Band, and also teaching School Bands at National Chiao-Tung Unversity、Hsin-Chu Senior Hight School. He is also the Founder and Director of the Chih-Yin Woodwind Quintet.
